2000 - Started
dj-ing, as well as helping with the co-ordination
of small events in and around JHB. Helped with the
‘Boogie Down Nights’ event that featured
UK Dj’s Asif (1st female to get to finals of
a DMC) and Olabean (Veteran party and Battle Dj).

| 2001
– Moved to Cape Town joined ‘AMD’
(A Much Darker Promotions – an Independent Promotions
team started by DJ Hamma) started dj-ing and helping
with the promotion, co-ordinating of Hip Hop events,
such as the ‘Word Life’, which featured
UK Dj’s Semtex (UK Def Jam) and Olabean. Played
opening set at ‘The Lab’ every Friday. Played
sets at numerous underground events in and around Cape
Town city. |

| 2002
– Involved in the promotion of ‘Boogie
Down Knights’ (One of Cape Town’s biggest
Hip Hop parties), which featured UK Dj Mr Thing (2000
World DMC 3rd Place) and French party Dj K-im. Helped
with the Cape Town Black August event which featured
Jeru the Damaja, Black Thought from The Roots, Talib
Kweli, Dead Prez and Boots from the Coup. Started the
Regular Friday night at ‘the Lounge’ (Cape
Town’s biggest Regular Hip Hop night) along with
Dj Hamma, which also featured up and coming as well
as established Local Dj’s. Dj for the ‘A.N.D
show’ (Hip Hop Theatre which consists of local
Mc’s Jini Grindith and Hymphatic Tabs as the collective
‘Abnormal Detail’). Regular Dj spot on UCT’s
Radio station’s ‘Hotbox ‘ (Hip Hop
show Hosted by Members of Local rap crew ‘Ground
Works’) |

2003
– Played at numerous events around Cape
Town, including the Movie Premiere of 8-Mile (Mtn’s
Free 2 Speak Campaign) The ‘CPT vs. Jozi’
event at the Valve, ‘Next Movement’ party
at Bassline, ‘Blue Berry Ball’ at club Uhuru.Also
organised the ‘Speech Therapy Freestyle Battles
and Jam Sessions’, which took place at the ‘Armchair
Theatre’ in Observatory. Played both days of the
‘One Love Community Festival’ (Two day event
showcasing Local bands and Dj’s) held in Strandfontein.
Played the closing set at the launch of local Hip Hop
magazine ‘CORE’. |
| 2004
– Played closing sets for regular Poetry
Night at Black Sheep every Sunday. Played set and helped
with the co-ordination of ‘Ill Collabo’
(Live Hip Hop band supported by local Mc’s) and
the ‘Boogie Down Knights’ which featured
Dj Woody (2x ITF World Champ, Vestax World Champ.) Is
currently working with ‘Abnormal Detail’
as Dj for live shows, including a tour to Grahamstown
for the ‘National Arts Festival’ (Annual
Art’s Festival set up to showcase up an coming
Artists, Band’s, Comedians, etc) |
