Gini Grindeth : Darker Side... ,/"... not to be missed"

Gini will razzle-dazzle daze and amaze you with fast-paced hard to the core lyrics one minute, and then in the next instant transport you with stammering slurs of speech to a disc-world only Terry Pratchett or J.R. Tolkien could fully understand. In 2004 he released his solo-project "Darker side of Reason" along with a music-video Paradise Road screened on SABC. He truely is an up and coming MC of note and is determined to eat anything that moves-even a member of the crowd from time to time.

Also the cat is a wild-style graffiti artist too who along with Rasti are producing clothing under their own label Munk. To top it off, Gini claimed champion position as a free-style artist in 1999 and 2001 at the annual African Battle Cry (CPT).

Gini Grindeth's Interview :

"I've been rhyming since 1996, doing shit with Fifth Floor, Uncanny Cessmen and some joints on the Concentration Camp with Fungus The Mutated Lung as side projects, but my immediate crew is AMNORMAL DETAIL…which is myself and Hymphatic Thabs, DJ Raiko and Evesdrop the new edition, thats more like mixing Hip-Hop with theatre. "

Graffiti : "Really thats when I started with Hip Hop, lots of bombing trains, now its more productive work. Its the strongest element…I always think of myself as a graff-writer first, its been my love for years. On that level its the most true element in HIP HOP.Cats are still being locked up on graff charges…People has been drawing on surfaces since the beginning of time…and whats the fucking difference now…just because some people have claimed ownership now its wrong. Everything you think you can do freely will be suppressed…there is only a certain limit to freedom. "
" Freedom is just a nice concept, an idea that people use as an excuse..its goes hand-in-hand with other words like democracy. Its just a word at the end of the day that makes you feel better about the world. Graffiti will always be a problem unless you are paying for it. Thats how it is these days, its cool if you can put it on TV and you’re paying 30 000 bones…if you are paying for it then its acceptable cause we all are living in a fucking capitalist world…If you don’t have loot then you are feeding on the bottom. If it sells then its O.K."

10 Years of Democracy : "They are trying to paint a pretty picture to the world about the new S.A…yeah everything looks a little different, but thats what they want you to think if it looks different then it must obviously be different…shit hasn’t changed its still the same…its just at the surface thats where it looks different. The same people who had their fingers in the pie is still running the economy, still running everything. Its all good if graffiti suites them but if it doesn’t, lock them up and throw away the key!! Shit is getting heavy, cats are getting shot at, hunted down. So everytime you go out to paint trains there is a chance that you can die, there are private police that are trigger happy. Cats have dodgged bullets… its no lie!"
ALBUM - Darker Side of Reason : "Exploration of Characterization... A journey thru the life of a character called Gini Grindeth, exploring the different elements of life…of the mental suppression thats holds people back from their creativity. An alter ego’s look on life…cause the world is a strange place and its getting stranger…a question on why, who, where and what. The music video called "Paradise Road" was made on zero budget same as the album. I’m not trying to get my face out there to much but its dope cause its a change from the commercially overplayed shit that just bombards the airwaves. They are prepared to show another side to Hip Hop…instead of making people bounch …lets try to get them to open up their brains."
