Levitation : Elevating the underground !

Levitation is an exploration of energy : an expression of life before (and beyond) complacency.

Mission Statement :

"Its a It's a Hip Hop based reminder of the force that young people wield that screams,'Fuck you very much, we can change the world and it's direction and will continue to do so!!'. It's a fire being lit under droopy eyed mass-media techonotrons and their doodoo media outlets which only serve to express suspect vested interests. Levitiation is us (all of us) representing issues on our own terms: from our backyards to the world! Its defiance, art, breaks, history, street-level pholosophy, crippling power structures, funk, politic, urban landscape beautifiers, township and surburban blisters, piss-takes, love:hate, soul, reclaiming home-soil... and our media!...Party for your right to fight!!!"

No mistaking, you could find a copy of this mag in every Hip Hop Heads bag and if not? why not? ... you've been sleep on this shit! Wake-da-brother-up! I know cats are mad broke and if that wasn't a joke, I'd be more then stoked. But its not...its nothing to laugh about! As Space Vein puts it in an article (My Definition),"Hip Hop is a way of Life. If a Hip Hop Head dies it is simply just the process of the decomposition of organs and bones. The mindstate that is Hip Hop is passed on to the next generation by means of audio-visual representation. Emcess, DJ's, Writers and Breakers." And in this independent publication you would find exactly that...and more!
A street-style presentation and documentation of all the elements in the movement put in a way that is informative, visualy stimulating, inspiring and a little wake for those who got too relaxed with the new S.A. shit. Yeah mad cats have grown mad apathetic, like all the battles have been waged and all the blood been shed... to secure everyone's freedom...So now everyone sits back and watch TV...if you have one. Read this article called Fear the Power of the Laities and it might just make look at things differently...make you remember. Or what do you think...Ok, Ok! I don't want to get caught up in to much political bullshit drama... but this shit is mad interesting... at least sometimes.

Yo these cats and kittens haven't been sleeping... Cause "Ija"..."bra"...dude...cherry... take a good look at this mag, if you missed it the first time around. Wisen-up a notch more about the hardcore -issh! You can see mad shit about the urban scene...interviews with Tumi, Gini, Milkdaddy...(if you don't know who they are...I suggest... you read-on)...a column about the most slept on albums...graff on walls, cars, trucks, trains,a bombcannon, a chicks ass...(did I leave out something?) of writers from "Die Kaap" to "J-sek"...write, write more on surfaces and curfidges...many in the next issue you'll see it on cleveages. That brings me to the next thing...

The next issue...seeing that, as its now these cats ain't got the loot to bring out the next one. So this is how they kill it..."as an independent media outlet Levitation Magazine primarily aims to provide a platform for dynamic expression by the youth through art and culture in the African context. If you are in any way able to help us obtain sponsorship or yourself interested in giving us financial aid please contact" the team.

" We would like to point out that there was absolutely no corporate assistance or involvement in the production of this lovely properganda monster that we call the Levitation. We would furthermore like it if you all took example and mastet your path in terms of pushing your projects to the end of the universe and back! We intend to build this magazine to reach it's full potential and hope that you will continue to support us in our quest to give the media back to the people."
