I was fortunate enough to be selected for participation in workshops, funded by the Department of Labour's National Skills Fund, for Live Event Technical Production and Music Business as part of Create SA/ MAPPP-SETA Skills Development Programme at the North Sea Jazz Festival Cape Town, April 2004. An incredible learning experience seeing the behind the scenes, backstage operations of the Festival; getting a clear understanding of the production process from beginning to end and also grasping the question of copyright in the music industry. This opportunity gave chance to see / meet really famous international and local artists like Femi Kuti, Angie Stone, Stanley Clarke, Abdullah Ibrahim, Cassandra Wilson, Miriam Makeba, Soweto Kinch, Ursula Rucker, Jonathan Butler, Yvonne ChakaChaka, Freshlyground and many more!
