Faith 47 : A soft feminine Touch

Faith 47 started graffiti in 97, getting into graff through tagging and chromies. Through intensive drawing Faith has evolved into doing large graffiti murals and concentrating a lot on styles and characters. She portrays strong female characters in alot of her work as well as having a definitivley feminine style. She does this intentially as she feels that females often take a back seat because of their self image and upbringing.

The media force is more and more projecting female role models as sex symbols because of this girls views of themselves and their roles in society becomes jarred.
Through intends on utilising her art to voice views such as this and others through the use of subtle characterisations and through pushing the barriers of design. She is also the designer of South Africas Levitation magazine which documents South African Youth Culture through music, art, politcal and social issues. Her design work and graff work merge together in different mediums as she formulates a style and image that is uniquely faith47. Whether you catch Faith slaving away on designs infront of her computer or out on the streets in the middle of the night or even doing some legal walls (like for instance the Building for the Association for the Blind) you be sure to see a unique style that stongly conveys a message of some sorts.
Whats more... you can also be sure to find her designs for flyers and album covers... her work is in high demand! She earned the respect of not only the Hip Hop community but also just the average man and women on the street.
You can just hear them say,"now that really beautiful... with a soft feminine touch", thus creating a reappretiation for an airform that has almost been outlawed! You're sure to find her name everywhere... whether its decorating township schacks, huge murals on busy main roads...
