First Case : "We're in a limited time and space- walking with a mind state- a militant mind state..."

The First Case Alliance was established in 1998 with an astonishing membership of eight(8) soldiers. These youths have risen from the dusty and sandy streets of the infamous Khayelistha Township (Cape Town, South Africa). They have collaborated and engaged through Poetry and the Visual Arts to depict and tell stories of their immediate environments. Gradually the members have drastically decreased to four(4) because most of the soldiers took different paths in life as they grew older but the legacy of the First Case Dynasty still remains. They have been blessing audiences with vibrant appearances in both the townships and the suburbs and still continue to do so with extreme consistency.

First Case's missions :

The First Case Alliance is not simply a Hip Hop crew but should be regarded as a reactionary, but innovative movement striving towards social change and youth upliftment. In a post-Apartheid South Africa and growing up at a difficult and critical time and place, the youth is faced with many challenges and intricacies such as drug addiction, peer pressure, lack of infrastructure for talent and creative development, unavailability of funds to further studies, and poverty, just to name a few.
The youth of the township is exposed to unnecessary stress and other negative issues that hinder their progress and dreams. Therefore, the mission of these individuals is to motivate, encourage and inspire the youth (through music and art) especially those coming from disadvantaged communities to rise above circumstances and utilise their talents to realise their dreams whatever they may be.

First Case's soldiers :

- Native Logik-Lunga- Also known as "Science of Reason," Native Logik paints vivid images of a colourful and vibrant kasi life with his rhymes depicting the lifestyle, the culture, of K'ltsha(7784) and most probably any other township with words like:" Life cycles/coins spinning/shouting 'heads or tails'/skills tailor-made to avoid poverty ..."
- Righteous Leadz-Luyanda "From the dark valleys/villages, alleys/on the daily... there is Righteous Leadz, the Hangover so handover the mic. This soldier goes to battle head on with direct, non-compromising simplicity. He writes clear messages which are not to be confused, misread or undermined. "I produce-and introduce-you to properties of elevation...."
K-9-Khanyiso- He is the "Dreaded lyrical journalist- sublime embedded- K9 the spiritual verbalist" He serves lyrical delicacies to the eardrum when he chants on the mic. On a track titled "Survivals best element, "K9 chants: "I 'm mainly relating to the youth/ who unprotectedly/ intercourse sexually/ negligently changing partners on a frequent sequence"
Zwai-The "Omniscient Narrator"- He's a traveller that documents his day to day observations and retells it orally. ...senzosakwantu...
