Azanian B-Boys : Lions of the Dance

They've entertained, inspired,
mezmerized, left mouths gapping... with their power
moves, their fusion of different influences from Kapoera
to Kung Fu combined with the classical basic moves;
their energetic styles had crowds applauding from
CPT to JHB. It's not like this was achieved over-night
either...year-in-and-year-out these dance floor specialists
have match-up their skillz with all the illest b-boys
(Enemy Forces, Universal Icons, Black noise B-boys,
Azanian Flames, Dream Team...) from all the four corners
at the S.A. Breakdance Championships.

An anual event arranged by 360 Degrees ( Emile YX, Rozanno
X, Denver, M, Arthur & Evan Milton). And you can
almost be sure that The Azanian B-boys is by far one
of the favourite crowd pleasers! Cats be like... I didn't
think that was possible! Flowing combinations of back-/front
flips, body poppin, top-rocking, headspinning, windmilling...Yo!

With
their sound Rasta philosophy, they are in a class of
their own... not to be messed with either...they can
battle you till you have to throw in the towel. Their
members consisting of Levi, Judah and Joseph have had
the priviledge of representing S.A at the Official Battle
of the Year for many years and have earned the respect
and admirations from b-boys all over the globe. Today
many young kids look-up at them for inspiration and
guidance.

Tragically
they lost one of their members, Mark also known as Judah,
in a freak motor accident, which left his whole community
and Hip Hop-scene scarred. Thanks to him many kids today
are breaking, the movement is forever indebted to him.
The rest of the crew soon alighned themself with their
original structure called "Lions of Zion",
combining rhymes with in syncronized combinations of
moves. |
