Epilogue : Who are You, Multi-Verse ?
 |
"
Born in the height of the apartheid political
turmoil, I very quickly had to learn the ropes
of ghetto survival living in the concentration
camp-style police controlled Cape Flats neighbourhood
called Lavender Hill. Which was plagued with gutter
education, unemployment, drug abuse and violence...

|
" ... I had to rise above
my circumstances if I was to escape a premature death
sentence ,and through tertiary education and music,
an opportunity emerged to rid myself from the shackles
of mental slavery deeply entrenched within my South
African upbringing. Music as a form of expression has
always been close to my heart and having been influenced
through the various genres of music (reggae, drum and
bass, grunge, metal), it became clear that Hip Hop was
the form which provided the best vehicle of self-expression.
In the past it embodied the voice of the marginalised,
oppressed and exploited and at present it redefines
itself constantly to change with the time. " |
 |
" I initially was
an Drum n Bass MC (one of the first on CPT) but soon
needed more much more room for growth. Along with
others, I formed a crew called KLENCHED FIST, though
all of us are concentrating on solo productions. Hip
Hop in the hands of the creative is a means of mobilizing,
conscientizing and inspiring the masses, and also
acts as a way of counterbalancing of mass influx of
commercialism and popular culture. We all have a part
to play in the global community and through interacting
and sharing experiences we can only move forward (backward
never!) toward a more intergrated world."
" I'M ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
